The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft of a car left running at the BP gas station in the 100 block of Old Sugar Creek Road in the Fenton area. The theft occurred about 6:20 p.m. Oct. 16, the report said.
The victim parked a maroon 2005 Chevrolet Impala valued at $2,000 at the station, and left it running and unlocked while he went inside the convenience store there. When he left the store to return to the car, he saw it being driven off by a man, according to the report.
The suspect is white and was described as thin and about 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing a gray hoodie with the hood up, the report said.
As of Oct. 27, the car had not been recovered. There were no suspects or arrests either, said Detective Sgt. James Kausler. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
