Arnold Police will seek felony charges against a 27-year-old Arnold woman for allegedly pointing a handgun at her husband while he had their 11-year-old son with him, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

That incident happened about 4 p.m. May 13 at the couple’s home on Lantern Light.

Eight days later, at about 4:30 p.m. May 21, Arnold Police got another call about a dispute at the home and ended up arresting the husband, a 32-year-old Arnold man, Jones said.

On May 13, the man and woman were arguing about a cell phone, and while the man was leaving their home with their son and the cell phone, the woman allegedly struck her husband in the back several times, the report said.

Then, once the man was outside the home, the woman allegedly exited the house with a handgun, pointed it at her husband, with their son nearby, and then she took the cell phone from her husband and went back inside the house, according to the report.

A short time later, the woman was taken into custody, booked, held for 12 hours and released pending application for warrants.

On May 21, Arnold Police were called to the home after the two were involved in an argument that turned physical, Jones said.

In addition, the man allegedly slashed tires on the woman’s vehicle so she couldn’t leave the home, Jones said.

When officers arrived, they allegedly found the man hiding outside in bushes, and then he ran from officers. But, he was apprehended, and, after making suicidal statements, was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County for evaluation, the report said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child, Jones said.

Her husband was issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for domestic violence and resisting arrest.
