Arnold Police have identified a 40-year-old man as a suspect in a theft from a mobile home in the 600 block of Berry Drive. The man allegedly entered the home trough a hole that had been cut into the floor, Capt. Rich Shular said.

The suspect’s last known address was in St. Charles. A 63-year-old St. Charles woman told police the suspect had rented the Arnold home from her at one time, but he had been evicted, the report said.

The theft occurred between about 6 p.m. April 15 and 6 p.m. April 17, but it was not reported until April 24. The victim said a stove, refrigerator, furnace, hot water heater, washer, dryer, storm door, oak table set and a ceiling fan were removed from the home. The items were valued at about $1,900, according to the report.

The cost to repair the hole cut in the floor was estimated at $700, the report said.

As of April 30, police were still waiting for charges to be filed against the man before attempting to take him into custody, Shular said.
