Arnold Police arrested a 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both of Fenton, for reportedly stealing more than $850 worth of items from the Kohl’s store, 2150 Michigan Ave. Police found the two after Flock Safety license-plate reading cameras located a pickup connected to the alleged shoplifting incident in Arnold, police reported.
At about 9:05 p.m. March 26, Arnold Police received an alert that a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup tied to the incident, which occurred at about 10:40 a.m. March 17, was parked outside the Wendy’s restaurant, 989 Jeffco Blvd. The pickup had license plates that had been reported stolen in St. Louis County, the report said.
The man and woman were in the pickup when police arrived, and an officer recognized the man because he was suspected in other thefts. In addition, the man’s driver’s license was revoked, and he had been arrested March 7 by Ballwin Police following a suspected shoplifting incident there, according to the report.
The woman was wanted by St. Louis County and Ballwin Police on fugitive warrants, the report said.
The two were arrested and taken to the Arnold Police Station, where they were booked. The man was released pending application for warrants, and the woman was held for another law enforcement agency, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office against the man for felony stealing, possession of stolen license plates and driving with a revoked license, and against the woman for felony stealing, Maj. Clinton Wooldridge said.
