Only one week is left to send in pictures of your grandchildren, great-grandchildren or even great-great-grandchildren for the chance to win cash.

The Leader’s Show Off Your Grandkids contest is open to those 50 and older who live in Jefferson County, Eureka or Wildwood. The first-place winner will take home $100, second place will get $75 and third will earn $50.

Entries will be judged on creativity, composition, charm and technical aspects such as crop, focus and lighting. The quality of the photograph will determine the winners; this is not a beauty contest for children.

Only one entry is permitted per child. A group photo counts as one entry for each child pictured. People who have entered the contest in the past are welcome to do so again, but please send different photographs.

Photos must have been taken by the grandparent who submits the entry. Include the following information with the photo:

■ Photographer’s name, age, address and phone number. (Entries missing this information will not be considered for prizes.)

■ The first and last names of children in the photo, the town they are from and how they are related to you.

■ When and where the photo was taken.

■ A brief explanation of why the photograph is special to you.

The deadline to enter the contest is 5 p.m. Thursday, March 20.

Entries may be sent by mail: P.O. Box 159, Festus, 63028; brought in person: 503 N. Second St. in Festus; or sent by email: news@myleaderpaper.com

Photos will be returned if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included.

Winning photos will be published in the April 3 Grand Times, which will be inserted inside that week’s Leader. Additional photos will be printed as space allows.

Photos not published in the paper will be posted to the Leader website, myleaderpaper.com.

The contest is held in conjunction with the De Soto Senior Expo, which is set for 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 9, at the De Soto Knights of Columbus, 13225 Hwy. E.

Businesses and organizations interested in securing a vendor space for the expo may contact the Leader at 636-931-7560 or ads@myleaderpaper.com
