Blackfeet Law Enforcement investigating death of woman near Heart Butte

BUTTE, Mont. - A Butte man was sprayed with bear spray and stabbed on Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Butte Police Department. 

The man, 44, told police he had been driving in the area of South Arizona Street when another man started yelling and making gestures at him. The 44-year-old pulled over next to the man, who then sprayed him with bear spray and stabbed him in the abdomen. 

The victim drove to the Thriftway store on Front Street to report the altercation, and he was then transported to St. James Healthcare. Butte police said his current condition is unknown. 

The suspect has not been found. Butte police described him as a tall, white man with long gray hair. He was wearing a green camouflage jacket or shirt with black jeans. He's estimated to be 40 or 50 years old.
