The Crystal City School District is accepting applications from those interested in filling an open seat on the Board of Education.
Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Nov. 5.
The seat on the seven-member school board was vacated in September when board member Meagan Zimmer resigned because she had moved out of the district.

Her name was Breeze when she was elected to the board for a three-year term in 2022.
The remaining six school board members plan to choose someone from among the applicants and appoint that person to the board to finish out the remaining months of Zimmer’s term, which will be up for election on April, 8, 2025.
The board thanked Zimmer for her service to the school district during the September meeting, Superintendent Crystal Reiter said.
Zimmer said she enjoyed her time on the Crystal City school board.
“It’s been an honor working on the board,” she said Tuesday. “Everyone has been welcoming and patient with my learning curve. Crystal City is a great school district.”
Zimmer said she moved to Imperial, where she lives with her fiance.
To qualify to serve on the board, a candidate must be at least 24 years old, a U.S. citizen, a registered taxpayer in the school district and a resident of the district for at least one year.
Applicants will be disqualified if they are delinquent in paying state income taxes, personal property or real estate taxes or municipal taxes or if they are required to register as a sex offender or have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor under federal law, of a felony under state law or of an offense in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri.
