Takota Latimer, 13, of House Springs was found Tuesday afternoon, the day after he was reported missing.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies located a House Springs teenager this afternoon, Oct. 24, the day after he was reported missing.

Takota Latimer, 13, was safe and unharmed when he was located by deputies, the Sheriff’s Office said in an email at 2:30 p.m. No additional details were provided.

Latmier’s family told investigators that the teenager has cognitive disabilities and is known to wander off when they reported him missing on Monday, Oct. 23, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Latimer had last been seen at about 5:50 p.m. Monday getting into a vehicle with others outside of his home in the 6000 block of North Lakeside Drive. Investigators reported there was no indication that Latimer was taken against his will.

Deputies, High Ride Fire Protection District personnel, a bloodhound and drones were used to search for Latimer starting at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office reported this morning that the search near Latimer’s home had been completed, but detectives were continuing to search for the missing teen.
