The Jefferson County 911 Board of Directors is seeking applicants to fill a vacant seat on the board.
Chief Travis Williams said the deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 23.
The board will choose and appoint someone from among those applicants to fill the seat that has been vacant since March when John Whitehead resigned. He represented District 1, which covers the western half of the county.
“He resigned for personal reasons,” Williams said.
Whitehead was elected in 2022 to a four-year term and left with two years remaining on his term.
The person chosen to replace him will hold the seat until 2026, Williams said.
To apply, send a letter of interest to Jefferson County 911 Dispatch, 5475 Buckeye Valley Road, House Springs, 63051, or email Williams at twilliams@jeffco911.org.
Williams said to be eligible to serve on the board, applicants must be 21 and a U.S. citizen and a resident of District 1 for at least one year.
“We’ve had three applicants so far,” he said Monday. “We hope to have the seat filled in the next 30 to 45 days.”
Jefferson County 911 provides dispatching services for most of the emergency response agencies in the county.
