Jefferson College Board of Trustees voted unanimously Oct. 8 to hire a Florida company to conduct a classification and compensation study of the college’s administration and staff.

Jefferson College will pay Evergreen Solutions LLC $45,500 to conduct the study. The college completed a similar study in 2019.

Mike Glisson, senior director of operations, said the compensation study would focus on administration and staff.

“A lot of things have changed since then (2019), and while I believe the faculty contracts get negotiated and updated every couple of years, the administration and staff piece is a little different than that,” he said.

The companies who submitted bids included: Gallagher, $36,900; A. Davis Consulting, $46,400; Brevard Consulting Partners, LLC, $48,200; CBIZ, $64,450; Alliant Human Capital, $98,000; Segal, $129,850; MGT, $148,500; and Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC, $250,000.

Evergreen Solutions was not the low bid, but the company had better references, officials said.

In other business, the board approved spending $393,377.79 to purchase new equipment from four diffent companies. The new equipment includes computers, monitors, Smart Boards and laptop charging carts.

Jefferson College will pay Dell Technologies of Round Rock, Texas, $272,354.10; SHI of Somerset, N.J., $96,160.93; KCAV of St. Louis, $17,063.82; and IT Savvy of Addison, Ill., $7,798.94.

The money for the purchases will come from three funds: computer capital replacement funds, $256,494.50; enhancement grant funds, $104,597.14; and capital project funds, $32,286.15.

In other actions, the board:

■ Approved the purchase of 33 new standardized tool kits for the heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning instruction program from Buyers Industrial Group of Maryland Heights for $48,015.

■ Agreed to surplus several items that are no longer of use to the college. The items include: a 1997 Freightliner/Ferrarra pumper fire truck purchased by the college in 2013 from the Maryland Heights Fire Departments; a trailer-mounted burn building/fire tower originally purchased by the college in 2012 from Fire Facilities; and steam sterilizer equipment originally purchased by the college in 2021 from Fischer Science Education. The equipment will be for sale online, and all proceeds from the sales will go into the college’s general fund.
