Julianne “Juli” Hand, a Jefferson County circuit judge, has been recognized for her efforts in public service by the Missouri Lawyers Media Women’s Justice Awards.

Hand and numerous other women from the Missouri legal community will be honored April 16 at the 14th annual ceremony at the Ameristar Casino & Resort in St. Charles.

In 2022, Hand was elected the Division 11 associate circuit judge of the Missouri 23rd Judicial Circuit Court.

Hand said the recognition from her peers means a lot.

“It’s huge to me because that’s why I came up here. I came up here to serve the public and to make things move, to actually get things done,” she said.

“Because as a lawyer I was finding they weren’t getting done. I just couldn’t stand it anymore.”

Associate circuit judges serve four-year terms. Hand’s annual salary in 2025 was $164,662.

Hand has filed for reelection in the Republican Aug. 4 primary.

Hand, 66, previously served as the Jefferson County municipal judge and was a senior partner at Kramer, Buchholz and Partney. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management in 1990 from Oklahoma State University and a juris doctorate in 1993 from the University of Tulsa.

Hand lives in De Soto with her husband, Larry.
