The House Springs Lions Car, Bike & Truck Show was “phenomenal” this year, according to Lions Club chairman Gary Bougeno.
The show, held Sunday, Sept. 13 at the House Springs Knights of Columbus Hall, featured 95 vehicles, from classic convertibles to retro pickup trucks, motorcycles and more.
Bougeno estimated a few hundred people came to the event to show off their rides and admire the other vehicles on display.
The Lions hold the car show annually to raise money to help local families with vision care services and holiday sponsorships. All proceeds, after expenses, from food sales, vehicle entries and raffle tickets will go to helping those in the community.
Bougeno said the amount raised from the car show was not available as of Monday.
Last year, 88 vehicles were registered in the show, he said.
“We beat last year, so that’s great,” Bougeno said. “It was just a great show, great turnout, great weather.”
The Lions prepared hot dogs, hamburgers, brats and grilled bologna sandwiches for the attendees. Many attendees and volunteers said the bologna sandwiches were a hit.
The Rock Community Lions, based in the Imperial area, made and sold fresh-squeezed lemonade at the car show.
