The Hillsboro R-3 School District is looking for public input to help look for its next superintendent.
District spokesperson Patrick Quinn said community members will have the opportunity to share feedback about the qualities, experience and priorities they would like to see in the district’s next leader.
He said community members may complete the survey by going to the district’s website, hsdr3.org.
After the survey closes Sept. 13, the search team will compile the responses into a summary that will be provided to the Board of Education ‘to help inform its decision-making during the superintendent selection process,” Quinn said.
Superintendent Jon Isaacson will retire at the end of the 2026-2027 school year, with his last day on June 30, 2027. The new superintendent will start July 1, 2027.
The board approved Isaacson’s retirement in November 2025.
Isaacson has held the position since 2018 and has worked with the district since 2008.
He said the Board of Education has partnered with the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) to assist with the search.
Board President John Linhorst said the school district is proud of its connection with parents and the community.
“As we plan for the district’s future, we are eager to hear from our community about the qualities and priorities they believe should guide the board’s search for our next superintendent,” he said.
