A High Ridge woman has written her second novel. She wrote a “story within a story based on the choices we make every day.”
Lana Richard, 73, released her book “Choices” earlier this year. In 2007, she wrote a children’s book and musical, “A Modern Prodigal Son.”
Richard, who is a music educator and previously taught at Jefferson College, worked as a musical director for St. Lucas United Church of Christ and was the piano accompanist for the St. Louis Children’s Choirs.
She said she got the idea for the book several years ago.
“I wrote it out, and I had it in the computer for about two years. And then one day, I got it out and reread it, and thought, ‘You know what? I think this is as good as anything else,’” Richard said. “I submitted it to different publishers, and Fulton (Books) picked it up, and they printed it for me.”
She said a copy of “Choices” is available for checkout at the Northwest Branch of the Jefferson County Library, 5680 Hwy. PP in High Ridge.
“Choices” is also available for purchase on Amazon in e-book, paperback and hardcover formats.
Richard said an audiobook will be available in the coming weeks.
