Residents who live in or around the Harmony Hills neighborhood off Vogel Road just outside Arnold are invited to attend a public meeting concerning the replacement of a bridge in that subdivision.
The Jefferson County Public Works Department is holding the open-house style meeting from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Arnold Branch of the Jefferson County Library, 1701 Missouri State Road.
The project involves the replacement of a bridge over Pomme Creek on Harmony Hills Drive.
According to county documents, the construction will be done on a 317-foot stretch between Vogel Road and Cord Circle.
The bridge to be replaced is considered structurally deficient and has a limit of 15 tons; a bridge that has a limit of 10 tons will not accommodate emergency vehicles and school buses.
At the meeting, interested residents may look at preliminary drawings and suggest ideas.
Final plans for the project are expected to be completed in the summer of 2024, with construction lasting from spring to winter 2025.
The county maintains the streets in the private development, according to county documents.
