College introduces new dean position for Arnold campus

The Jefferson College Board of Trustees on April 9 created a new dean’s position for the college’s Arnold campus.

Kenneth Wilson, the current dean of instruction on the Hillsboro campus, was named the new dean of workforce and community education on the Arnold campus. His one-year term will begin July 1. His current salary is $132,771 and will not change in the new job. The new position was created following the restructuring of the Jefferson College Arnold campus following the resignation of Joe Haack, the director of EMS programs.

In other business, the trustees:

■ Approved paying Brockmiller Construction of Farmington $327,900 to renovate the Arts & Science building restrooms.

■ Approved a contract to repair concrete in multiple places on campus including the Arts & Sciences building, Early Childhood Center, Field House and the Fine Arts building. The $84,900 bid was awarded to Kimes Contracting of Hillsboro.

■ Approved a contract to excavate and remove an existing parking area. The bid of $66,670.54 was awarded to Jokerst Inc. of Ste. Genevieve.

■ Approved a three-year contract for Viking Woods Wi-Fi services. The bid of $99,576 was awarded to Charter Spectrum.

■ Approved the renewal of the contract for the college’s system for business reporting, data analytics and integrated budgeting. The five-year contract of $309,980 was awarded to Millennium Software Service Solutions of Victoria, BC.
