An Imperial woman and a Fenton man were injured late Sunday afternoon (March 17) when a car allegedly ran a red light causing a two-car collision on Hwy. 141 near Schneider Drive in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:22 p.m., Shannon M. Werner, 46, of Imperial was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring north on Hwy. 141 and while attempting to turn left at a green light onto Schneider Drive, a 49-year-old Fenton man, driving a southbound 1992 Toyota Corolla, allegedly drove through a red light, and hit the Sebring head-on, the report said.
After the front of the two cars struck, the Sebring rotated and the back end of it hit the back end of the, according to the report.
The man was seriously injured, and Werner was moderately injured. Both were transported by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County/
The man was listed in critical condition as of this afternoon (March 19), and Werner had been treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
The man was not wearing a seat belt, but Werner was wearing one, the patrol reported.
The Sebring and Corolla were extensively damaged, the report said.
