traffic accident patrol patch

Tessa J. Hobbs, 22, of Festus was injured Friday morning, July 26, in a two-vehicle accident on the ramp from northbound I-55 to northbound I-270 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Daval R. Jennings, 23, of Oklahoma City, Okla., was driving a 2007 Freightliner Columbia west on the ramp and failed to stop for congested traffic ahead, and the front of the big rig struck the rear of a westbound 2019 Honda Civic driven by Zachary E. Byers, 29, of Festus, who was stopped because of the congested traffic, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Jennings of Byers. However, Hobbs, who was a passenger in the Civic, was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

Both drivers and Hobbs were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Civic was totaled, and the Freightliner.
