James W. Jones, 64, of Imperial was injured Friday night, Sept. 8, in a two-vehicle accident on Old Hwy. 21 north of Lions Den Road west of Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 10:10 p.m., Jones was driving a southbound 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, and the front of the car struck the right side of a northbound 2018 Ram 5500 driven by Nedal M. Tawfiq, 46, of Ballwin who was stopped and partially blocking the southbound lane while preparing to tow another vehicle, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Tawfiq.
Jones was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Jones was not wearing a seat belt, and Tawfiq was wearing one, the patrol reported.
The Grand Am was extensively damaged, and the tow truck had minor damage, the report said.
