An Imperial man and a Scott City woman were injured Monday afternoon (Aug. 3) in a one-vehicle accident on I-55 at the 163.6 mile marker in Ste. Genevieve County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:47 p.m., Jason O. Carver, 43, of Imperial was driving a 2017 Kia Sorento south on I-55 and ran off the left side of the road, where the SUV struck the cable barriers and then ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment and a tree, the report said.
Both Carver and his passenger – Mikia L. Asbridge, 42, of Scott City – were moderately injured and taken by Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.
Carver was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
However, the hospital had no information about Asbridge, the spokesman said today (Aug. 6).
Carver and Asbridge were both wearing seat belts, the patrol reported
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
