James D. Barnett, 52, of Fenton died Wednesday evening (Oct. 21) after a pickup struck the motorcycle he was riding at High Ridge Commons Parkway and Hwy. 30 in High Ridge, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 7:05 p.m., Barnett was riding a 2009 Kawasaki north on High Ridge Commons and while attempting to cross the intersection with Hwy. 30, a 50-year-old Eureka man driving a pickup west on the highway failed to stop at a signal, and the front left side of the pickup struck the bike, and then Barnett was ejected, the report said.
The pickup continued on and struck a 2000 Honda Accord that also was headed north on High Ridge Commons, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for the Eureka man.
Michelle N. McMillin, 54, of House Springs was driving the Accord, and no injuries were reported for her either.
Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
He was wearing a helmet, and the Eureka man and McMillin were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The bike was totaled, the pickup sustained moderate damage and the Accord sustained minor damage, the report said.
