A 50-year-old De Soto man died when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on southbound Hwy. 141 south of Fiedler Lane in the Jefferson County area of Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:25 a.m. today, June 12, a 29-year-old Hillsboro man was driving a southbound 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he struck the De Soto man, who was walking in the lane, the report said.
Saline Valley Fire Department personnel pronounced the De Soto man dead on the scene at 12:37 a.m., and the Jefferson County Medical Examiner transported him to the St. Louis County Office of the Medical Examiner, the report said.
According to the report, the Hillsboro man was wearing a seat belt, and the Jeep was totaled.
