This story has been updated to reflect a correction the Missouri State Highway Patrol made to its initial accident report.

Three Hillsboro residents, including a 4-year-old girl, were hurt Tuesday evening (Feb. 13) when they were struck by a pickup that was involved in a three-vehicle accident on Jeffco Boulevard at Miller Road south of Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

At 5:05 p.m., Dillon L. Watson, 27, Madisen C. Watson, 27, and Natalee Watson, 4, all of Hillsboro, were struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado that had collided with two other vehicles, the report said.

Dillon Watson was moderately injured, and Madisen Watson and Natalee Watson each sustained minor injuries. All three were transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (Feb. 15).

Nathan A Wisdom, 62, of Arnold was driving the Colorado pickup south on Jeffco Boulevard toward Miller Road and the Dollar General store, 4212 Jeffco Blvd., and as he approached the store, one vehicle was stopped at the store exit ready to pull out and another was stopped on Miller Road getting ready to cross Jeffco and enter the store parking lot, the report said.

John L. Burgan, 37, of Imperial was stopped in a 2006 Ford F150 at the parking lot exit preparing to turn south onto Jeffco Boulevard, and Donald J. Fisher, 51, of Imperial was stopped in a 1996 Dodge Dakota on eastbound Miller Road getting ready to cross Jeffco and drive into the Dollar General parking lot, the report said.

Fisher, in the Dakota, began to travel across Jeffco Boulevard in front of Wisdom, in the Colorado, who attempted to avoid hitting the Dakota by swerving to the left, but the front of the Dakota hit the right side of the Colorado, according to the report.

The collision pushed the Colorado off the east side of Jeffco Boulevard and into the Dollar General store’s driveway, where the left side of the Colorado hit the front of the stationary F150 driven by Burgan. The Colorado then went off the east side of Jeffco Boulevard and struck the three pedestrians, the report said.

The Colorado then hit a rock and came to a rest, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the drivers. Wisdom and Burgan were wearing seat belts, but Fisher was not, the patrol reported.

The Colorado was extensively damaged, and the F150 and Dakota were moderately damaged, the report said.
