If you’re looking for some Halloween fun and a way to help Woodridge Middle School, you’ll have the chance this week.
The school’s Student Lighthouse group has organized a trunk or treat event to be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the school, 2109 Gravois Road, in High Ridge.
Liz Green, Woodridge Middle School principal, said she is looking forward to the second annual event.
“Last year we had a massive turnout, and we are expecting an even larger crowd this year,” she said. “We are anticipating approximately 500 trick-or-treaters,” Green said.
Concessions will be sold in the lobby, including hot dogs for $3, nachos for $3, chips for $1, popcorn for $1, water for $1 or soda or Gatorade for $2. All profits will benefit the Student Lighthouse team, which helps fund various celebrations throughout the year. A variety of family-friendly games will be played in the gymnasium.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in costumes.
“This is an incredible testament to the leadership of the young people in our Student Lighthouse team, and seeing their excitement and pride to host such a successful event is quite rewarding,” Green said. “People should attend because our students have been working hard on this event, and it is sure to be a fun time. Also, who doesn’t love some candy?”
