The annual Black History Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 25) at the Quality Inn, 1200 W. Gannon Drive, Festus.
J. Alan Kee, an engineer responsible for the design and commercialization of several knee and hip replacement systems, will be the keynote speaker.
In addition, Drum Major awards are presented to individuals or groups for their leadership in the community.
The event is sponsored by the Cultural Diversity Committee and Giving Something Back to the Community organizations. The luncheon raises money for college scholarships and to help local residents.
Tickets cost $30 each.
