Families have two opportunities to meet and take photographs with Santa for free, in Herculaneum on Dec. 12 and in Crystal City on Dec. 13.
Evening with Santa
Herculaneum’s 18th annual Evening with Santa is set for 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Kade’s Playground in the William C. Haggard City Park, 776 Joachim Ave., in Herculaneum.
Admission is free.
The annual event is well attended, Herculaneum Mayor Ryan Wright said.
“The annual Evening with Santa is one of the highlights of the year for our city,” Wright said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate the season and create lasting memories.”
Wright said families will have the chance to take photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus and a live reindeer. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own cameras or phones to take photos.
At the event, each child will receive a personalized ornament, while supplies last, and a festive snack cake, Wright said.
Reflections Photo Lounge will be on site with their photo trailer, “Ella,” and refreshments will be available for purchase, with COTA Coffee selling warm beverages and Hogz in da Hood serving food.
Wright said he is grateful to the city employees who make these types of events possible.
“I would like to thank our parks Superintendent Candace Siebert for all her work on making it so special and nice. It takes a lot of time and hard work, and I’m thankful to have her help,” he said.

Santa in the Park
Crystal City’s third annual Santa in the Park event will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Crystal City Municipal Park, 1400 Dick Cook Drive.
Crystal City Mayor Mike Osher said the event will include free carriage rides, starting at the Summit. Free cocoa, coffee, and coloring sheets will be available at the Summit as well.
Osher said Santa will be available for photos throughout the event.
The Crystal City High Concert School choir will sing Christmas carols starting at 5:30 p.m. and lasting about 30 minutes.
Osher said more than 200 people attended last year, and he hopes to see the event grow.
“It’s a nice, little event,” he said.
