Two Memorial Day services are planned for Monday, May 25, for veterans and members of the public.
The American Legion Post 253, 849 American Legion Drive, Festus, will host a Memorial Day Ceremony in honor of all veterans who have died.
The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.
All are welcome to attend and honor the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for American freedom, organizers said.
The annual De Soto Memorial Day Service will feature Quincy Myrick, the state VFW commander who lives in House Springs. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at Mahn Funeral Homes, 900 N. Main St., De Soto.
The program will begin with a welcome from Todd Mahn, opening prayer and a flag raising. Music will be provided by The Rivertown Sound. The Jefferson County Marine Corps League 707 Honor Guard will perform the 21 Gun Salute with the firing of the cannon by the 13th Missouri Light Artillery.
