St. Pius X High School will celebrate homecoming next week with a variety of activities, including a powder-puff game, bonfire, field day and, of course, the varsity football game.
The game will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, when the Lancers take on Vashon High School/Miller Career Academy, which has a combined football program, at St. Pius, 1030 St. Pius Drive, in Crystal City.
Admission to the game is $4 for adults, $2 for active first responders and military and free for students.
This year’s homecoming theme is “Lights, Camera, Action,” and students will dress up like characters from various movies during homecoming week.
Wednesday, Oct. 9, will be the school’s annual Eighth Grade Day, when eighth-graders from around the region are invited to visit the campus and meet faculty and take part in games and other activities.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, there will be a faculty and alumni egg toss, a powder-puff game and a bonfire, which are open to students and their families, faculty and alumni.
Before the football game on Oct. 11, a field day a pep rally for the students will be held.
A homecoming dance for students will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Maggie Holmes, director of marketing and a 2018 St. Pius X graduate, said she is excited for homecoming.
“We look forward to seeing familiar and friendly faces. We like to think of our students and alumni as one big family, and it’s a great feeling to see all of these generations of students and alumni and their families come back one night,” she said. “We love catching up and hearing how everybody is doing.”
