Spotlight Community Theatre will put on “Murder is on the Air: A Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre” this weekend.

The shows will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Marquee on Main wedding and event center, which recently opened at 516 Bailey Road, in Crystal City.

Tickets cost $30 and include dinner, beverage and dessert provided by the Crispy Edges Eats and Shakes restaurant in Festus.

Courtney Wisely, Spotlight’s executive director, said an all-teen cast will stage the performance about a murder committed during the live airing of a popular program, “The Lizzie Show.” The work is set in 1957.

“We are so excited to present our first-ever murder-mystery dinner theatre and even more excited that it will be at the beautiful Marquee on Main,” Wisely said. “This is the perfect way to kick off our fall season, and these talented teens are going to slay this show.”

Cast members include Clay Pickrell, Jenna Clifton and Gwendolyn Kort of Festus; Adelyn Spear of Herculaneum; Blane Johnson of Barnhart; Megan Kraus of Arnold; and Carter Ongesel of De Soto.

The director is Amy Smith of Arnold.

Tickets may be purchased at spotlightjeffco.ludus.com.

Spotlight Community Theatre, a nonprofit group based in Festus, has members from all around the county.

Its next production, the Neil Simon play “The Odd Couple,” is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 7-9 and 2 p.m. Nov. 10, also at The Marquee on Main.
