Jefferson County and Eureka Leader readers are invited to send in their favorite wedding-related photos for the “Share the Love” contest being held in conjunction with this year’s Leader Wedding Fair, set for Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Corpus Christi Event Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial.
Readers are encouraged to share a photo about their most meaningful wedding-related experience – from the proposal to the 75th anniversary and anything in between.
Perhaps it shows a humorous mishap that plagued the wedding day. Maybe it’s a photo of your “meet cute” at a concert or ball game.
Maybe it’s the incredible photo of the bride and her bridesmaids getting together again for a giggle 25, 40 or even 60 years after the big day.
Whatever your favorite photo might be, send it in and tell us about it!
“We’ve published hundreds of engagements, weddings and anniversaries over the years,” Leader publisher Peggy Scott said. “It’s always fun to see and share those photos and the stories that go along with them.”
In order to be eligible for publication, all entries must include your name, phone number and town of residence.
Also include information about who’s featured in the photo you submit, as well as when and where the photo was taken and a brief description of what’s happening in the photo and why it’s one of your favorites.
One entry will be drawn at random to win a $200 cash prize. The winning photo, along with as many others as space permits, will be published in the special section slated to run in the Feb. 2 issue of the paper.
Deadline to submit an entry is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16. There are several options for submitting:
■ Bring to the Leader office at 503 N. Second in Festus.
■ Mail to the newspaper at P.O. Box 159, Festus, 63028.
■ Email to news@leaderpublications.biz.
Admission to the Wedding Fair will be $10, with proceeds going to Comtrea’s A Safe Place, a shelter for women who have been victims of domestic abuse, as well as for their families.
Leader Publications has been hosting the Wedding Fair since 1995. Over the years, the event has raised $46,653 for local charities.
The Leader also is seeking vendors to participate in the fair.
