Northwest High School Theater Club students will keep the audience on their toes during their Mystery Dinner Theatre performance.
The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, in the cafeteria at Northwest High School, 6005 Cedar Hill Road, in Cedar Hill. Tickets for those older than 10 cost $25 and tickets for those 10 and younger cost $15. The ticket price also includes dinner, which will be catered by Pasta House and features pasta, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the theater club so it can continue to grow, said Sarah McDonough of Cedar Hill, Northwest High’s theater director and drama teacher.
Tickets will only be available in advance and may be purchased through Wednesday, Nov. 5. To purchase tickets, visit events.hometownticketing.com/boxoffice/northwestschools/entity/schools/1.
McDonough said the Northwest High School Theater Booster Club is helping her and co-director Archer Tribett plan the event.
McDonough said this will be the theater club’s first time holding a mystery dinner performance, and she is hoping for a good turnout.
“We are hoping for 50 to 100 (people in attendance), fingers crossed. The event will be very interactive,” she said. “Guests must wear a name tag with an alias because as soon as you enter the room, you are a suspect.”
Cast members include Northwest High seniors Nathan Zesch and Sam Lovelady; and juniors Payton Sinclair, Amelia Maddox, MaKayLea Bartlett, Ry Chirinos, Bella Williams and Zoey Patterson. Students who will help serve food include senior Mia Villasenor-Metz and juniors Brooke Walker, Autumn Hessenauer and Morgan Bowen.
Bartlett said if you like a good murder mystery, this performance is for you, plus it will get the audience talking with one another.
Patterson also encourages people to attend and said it will be an immersive experience with great food included. McDonough said those who attend the event will support the theater club, and people will get to see the students put on a fun, interactive performance.
“I am so excited to see the kids acting out a murder mystery,” she said. “People should attend because the kids are absolutely going to rock it, and we are all going to have so much fun in the process.”
