The Louisa May Alcott story about four sisters living in Civil War times will be brought to life by Spotlight’s performers, said director Eric Haynes.
“‘Little Women’ is more than a sentimental story about girls growing up in the Civil War era,” said Haynes, of Arnold. “It is a powerful exploration of identity, relationships and societal expectations in the lives of those who desperately want to break out and discover who they really could be.
“This story continues to be a powerful and important journey for us all to travel.”
The assistant directors are Angi Ruble of Hillsboro and Chad Godier of Herculaneum. Brandon Dougherty of Crystal City is the stage manager.
“‘Little Women’ is sure to tug at your heartstrings,” Godier said. “Through every joy and hardship, the March sisters’ unbreakable bond proves that family can overcome anything.”
Ruble said a talented cast will perform “Little Women.” “The cast of ‘Little Women’ will bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye,” she said.
Cast members are Becca Wofford and Megan Kraus of Arnold; Bryan Fitzpatrick of De Soto; Austin Sitz, Erin Bingenheimer, Haylee Sitz, Leslie Hoff, Lynn Siebert, Marji Peters and Stella Drury of Festus; Brian Ferris and Luke Heine of Hillsboro; Abigail Post of St. Louis County; and Monica Lee of Valles Mines.
The Spotlight Community Theatre group is a nonprofit organization founded by Courtney Wisely in 2022 and based in Festus but draws members from around Jefferson County and beyond. The organization’s website is spotlightjeffco.org.
