Whether it’s intimate or grandiose, traditional or innovative, low-key or boisterous, you want your wedding to be uniquely your own. But how do you navigate the bewildering array of choices out there?
Why, you come to the 30th annual Leader Wedding Fair!
The event is slated for 12:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, in the Corpus Christi Event Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial.
“Last year was our first time in this venue, and it is really wonderful,” Leader publisher Peggy Scott said. “It lends itself well to this kind of event. We’re excited about returning.”
Admission to the wedding fair is $7 in advance at myleaderpaper.com/weddings or $10 at the door. A limited number of free tickets may still be available; check the website and use code FREETICKET.
Proceeds will go to A Fighting Chance Foundation, a local organization that seeks to promote mental health and suicide prevention. Over the Leader Wedding Fair’s history, the event has raised more than $48,000 for local charities.
About 40 vendors will be on hand with products and services focusing on planning a wedding or other celebration, such as venues, music, photography, food, decorations, travel and more.
Many vendors will offer door prizes and giveaways.
“Using pre-printed address labels is a smart way to make it easy to enter all the drawings and contests,” Leader digital marketing manager Katelyn Mary Skaggs said.
The first 50 brides to arrive will receive a free tote bag from The Bridal Shoppe in Crystal City.
Cadets from the Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy will be on hand to help with parking, help greet guests and to escort models during the fashion show.
Clarice’s Bridal in St. Louis County will put on a fashion show at the event, showing off some of the latest wedding gown trends. It will be Clarice’s Bridal’s first fashion show in Jefferson County.
Complete Weddings and Events in St. Louis County will provide the DJ music during the fashion show. It will be the company’s first time participating in the Leader Wedding Fair.
The fair also will include speakers who will address wedding-planning topics.
A cash bar will be available.
