Readers are invited to join Leader Publications for its second annual community blood drive with ImpactLife.
The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, when the ImpactLife donation bus will be parked on the Leader’s parking lot, 503 N. Second St., in Festus.
Katelyn Mary Skaggs, digital marketing manager at Leader Publications, said she is looking forward to starting the 2025 year off with a good deed: a donation to ImpactLife.
“We are starting the year with a bang and are thrilled to partner with ImpactLife again for our second blood drive,” she said. “The Leader’s first blood drive was a success and had a good turnout of both Leader employees and community members donating. We are hoping for a similar experience this year.”
The newsroom staff at the Leader knows firsthand from speaking with emergency responders how serious accidents can be and how important blood donations are.
“We want to do our part and help those in the area who have gone through those difficult moments. We want to give back in the form of life-saving donations for accident victims, surgeries and different kinds of treatments,” Skaggs said. “There are many incentives for donating blood, but nothing beats knowing that you helped save a life. Every donation will aid someone in a time of hardship, and this is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help meet this vital necessity in our community.”
In addition to donating to a good cause, donors will receive an “I Love the Leader Newspaper” T-shirt.
All donors must make an appointment and bring a valid form of identification when they show up to donate blood. To make an appointment, go to myleaderpaper.com/blooddrive.
