The fifth annual Festus Main Street Association Ladies Night will again offer shopping, music and refreshments, organizer Michelle Hohmeier said.
This year’s event is set for 4-9 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in Festus and Bailey Road in Crystal City. Admission is free.
The Festus Main Street Association previously was known as the Historic Tanglefoot Association until its name change late last year.
Hohmeier said the group’s Ladies Night event has been popular.
“I think the ladies like to be out for a night to go shopping and have fun,” said Hohmeier, a member of the association.
She said that doesn’t mean men are excluded.
“Gentlemen are welcome,” said Hohmeier, owner of Tree of Life Art Gallery, Fine Antiques, Artfully Restored Furniture, 109 E. Main St.
Many of the businesses on Main Street and Bailey Road will be open during the Ladies Night. In addition, some businesses not based in downtown Festus-Crystal City will set up vendor booths.
“Main Street Creations (12 E. Main St.) will have three other vendors in front of their store,” Hohmeier said. “Bombshell Babes Boutique & Salon (204 E. Main St.) will also have vendors in front.”
She said people may want to bring their dogs with them to Ladies Night.
“Serenity K Boutique (215 E. Main St.) will have Revitalized Canine Massage for dogs and Rejuvenate Massage for humans in front of its store, so, massages for humans and dogs,” Hohmeier said.
She said a dog-kissing booth will also be included.
Four Brothers Mead (124 E. Main St.) will have two stations at the event, Hohmeier said, adding that several Crystal City shops plan to participate in Ladies Night.
“VivianJames & Co. (519 Bailey Road), Meraki Tattoo & Piercing (520 Bailey Road), Cheese Steaks (518 Bailey Road) and Pedal’n Pi (514 Bailey Road) will participate,” she said.
Food trucks will be on hand as well, she added.
“We will have live music from Guy Clark in front of Tree of Life and That Girl Band at the Petit Paree Restaurant & Lounge patio (228 E. Main St.),” Hohmeier said. “Both bands play 4-9 p.m.”
The Festus Tourism Commission awarded a grant to the association to help fund the event.
