If you’re in the market for a first job, a career change or a retirement gig, we’ve got a great, one-stop opportunity for you.
The fourth annual Jefferson County Job Fair is set for Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.
The fair is sponsored by five local entities: Leader Publications, the city of Arnold, the Arnold Chamber of Commerce, the Fox C-6 School District and Jefferson College.
A variety of businesses will staff booths with representatives to talk with prospective employees, take resumes and answer questions.
“It’s great to have so many different employers in all different fields to talk with, face-to-face,” Leader publisher Peggy Scott said. “You’re much more likely to find the right job for you than just looking online. Plus, you might win one of the door prizes.”
Why come to the fair?
■ More than 30 employers will be on hand at the fair, representing employment opportunities across a range of skills and pay levels.
■ Representatives from the Employment Services Office at Jefferson College will be on hand to offer free resume help, advice on job searching and pointers on interview skills.
■ A professional photographer will be on hand to take free pictures of participants to be used on social media or with resumes.
■ A limited number of free business attire items will be available, courtesy of the college’s Career Closet.
■ Many of the vendors will offer giveaways, and attendees will have the chance to win attendance prizes.
A special section will be published in the Oct. 13 Leader, with detailed information about fair activities, schedules and profiles of some of the participants.
