The fourth annual Jefferson County Job Fair will take place Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd, in Arnold, providing an opportunity for job seekers and prospective employers to connect.

A variety of businesses will staff booths with representatives who will talk with prospective employees, take resumes and answer questions.

The fair is sponsored by five local entities: Leader Publications, the city of Arnold, the Arnold Chamber of Commerce, the Fox C-6 School District and Jefferson College.

“Because of the effects of the pandemic, the job situation is still problematic for a lot of people,” Leader editor Kim Robertson said. “This is a great opportunity for job seekers to connect with the job opportunities we know are out there.”

Resume specialists from Jefferson College will review participants’ resumes and offer suggestions for cover letters and help with interview skills and more.

A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures of participants they may use on social media or with their resumes.

For the first time at the event, a limited number of free items of business Career Closet.

Many vendors will offer giveaways, and attendees also will have the chance to win prizes at the event.

The first-ever Leader Job Fair in 2019 was a resounding success, drawing more than 500 job seekers. In 2020, however, the event was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last year, the event returned to an in-person format, and once again drew a crowd of more than 500 job seekers.

A special section will be published in the Oct. 13 Leader, with detailed information about activities the day of the fair, schedules and profiles of some of the participants.
