Hillsboro High library media specialist Leigh Kalista is directing the show. Stephanie Williams, a Hillsboro High English teacher is the technical director.
Kalista said the production is a “genre-bending, post-apocalyptic reimagining of Greek mythology that we have woven into a steampunk world.”
Kalista also said because the show is told entirely through song, it is the “most challenging, yet profoundly beautiful, production I have ever directed.”
Kalista said the musical follows two love stories, but it is ultimately about the strength of the human spirit.
“We watch characters find the courage to persevere and the strength to begin again, even when it hurts,” she said. “This musical is a testament to hope. After all, without hope for ourselves and our future, what remains?”
Kalista said the cast and crew have poured a lot of creativity into the show into a staging that is uniquely their own.
“Please, come and spend an evening with us this weekend,” she added.
