The annual Hillsboro Christmas Parade is coming to town.
Organized by the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, the parade will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday on Stadium Drive near Hillsboro Intermediate School. The parade will continue onto Business 21 through Main Street, passing by Hillsboro City Hall and other businesses before turning left onto Vreeland Road.
Mandy Alley, the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce marketing coordinator, said about 50 units or floats have been entered in the parade.
Alley said new floats will be accepted up until the parade begins but pre-registration is preferred.
The entry fee is $15.
Alley said floats will also compete in categories, such as Best Marching/Walking, Best Dressed Animal and Best Religious Float.
The best float overall will be awarded a $100 cash prize.

Following the parade, the free Community Christmas at the Farm will be held at Bridle Ridge Acres, 5 Bridle Ridge Spur.
Inside the barn, Santa Claus will be available for pictures, and farm animals will be available to pet.
New to this year’s event is Santa’s Gingerbread Workshop, where kids can build their own gingerbread creations with provided kits in the farm’s greenhouse.
Local food trucks will be on site, and Bank Star will serve cookies and cocoa.
The hayloft will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland, with more than 25 decorated trees.
Donation jars will be available throughout the event, and all proceeds will go to support the Hillsboro High School Agriculture Department.
