The St. Patrick’s Day Dance is High Ridge Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser.

The High Ridge Rotary Club will hold its 27th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance on Saturday, March 16.

The dance is open to the public and will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 6800 KC Lane in House Springs. Doors open at 6 p.m., but the real party begins at 7 p.m., Rotary Club president Jeff Queen said.

Tickets for the dance cost $25 and may be purchased in advance at the Enterprise Bank in House Springs, 4675 Gravois Road. The tickets can be purchased at the door.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Queen said. “The Rotary Club gives out scholarships to the seniors who are graduating from Northwest High School and Grandview (High School).”

Queen said the club gives $500 and $700 scholarships to seniors who plan to attend college or a trade school.

“(The dance) benefits the community by allowing us to give these scholarships out to the students who are graduating in the area,” Queen said. “Hopefully, it helps them with their education. It’s not a lot of money, but hopefully, it’s a little bit that helps them get started.”

He said a portion of the money raised from the dance is used to purchase food for a community Thanksgiving dinner held at the High Ridge Fire Protection District.

Queen said local businesses have donated items that will be raffled off during the dance. One of the raffle items is a Blackstone grill. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the dance.

Queen said The lowercase G’s, a band based in the High Ridge and House Springs area, will be playing pop and country music during the dance. Lead singer Sarah Landing said her band performed at last year’s dance as well.

“We’re so excited to be playing again at the dance,” Landing said. “People should come out for a good time and some awesome music.”

Queen said those interested in joining the High Ridge Rotary Club are welcome to attend its weekly meetings at noon on Tuesdays at the Grand Slam Restaurant & Bar, 519 Mae Court, in Fenton.

He said about 300 people attend the St. Patrick’s Day Dance every year.

“Over the past few years, it’s really picked up,” Queen said. “It’s a good time. Wear your green and come ready to party.”
