More than a hundred cars, bikes, and trucks will be on display at the High Ridge Elks Lodge Car & Bike Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Elks Lodge, 2808 Hunning Road.
The event is free to the public but proceeds from vehicle registration and concession sales will go toward the lodge’s community projects, said organizer Sandy Colatskie.
“Everything we make from it goes back to the community,” she said. “Some money goes toward kids’ Christmas presents, some for Thanksgiving baskets and some for college scholarships for Northwest High School students.”
Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the day of the event. The cost is $20 to register a vehicle. The first 100 registrants will receive a free T-shirt.
The Elks Lodge will sell barbecue during the show, including hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and pork steaks.
“It’s all really good and usually sells out,” Colatskie said.
Door prizes include shirts and coolers. She said anybody who enters a car, truck or bike will get a ticket to be entered into door prize drawings.
Trophies for the best vehicle entries will be awarded at 2:30 p.m. Best of show, best engine and best paint trophies will be awarded to cars and motorcycles.
“Usually the parking lot is jam-packed (with cars),” Colatskie said. “It gets bigger and bigger every year.”
She said the event is kid-friendly and there is a play area specifically for children.
“Just come out and have a good time and see some cool cars.” Colatskie said.
