There’s just a week or so left to save a little money and buy advance tickets for the annual Leader Wedding Fair, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Corpus Christi Event Center at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial.
Advance tickets cost $10 and are available online at myleaderpaper.com/weddings. After 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, tickets are $15 per person.
Ticket proceeds go to Comtrea’s A Safe Place, a shelter for women who have been victims of domestic abuse, as well as for their children.
At the fair, a wide variety of vendors will be on hand with products and services geared toward those planning a wedding or other celebration, such as venues, music, photography, food, decorations, honeymoon travel and more.
The event offers a one-stop shopping opportunity for those gearing up for their Big Day – or any other celebration.
“You don’t want to miss out on a great planning opportunity, whether it‘s for a wedding or other special event,” Leader editor Kim Robertson said. “Plus, this event is always a lot of fun.”
Many vendors will offer door prizes and giveaways. Pre-printed adhesive address labels make entering those drawings easier and much faster.
The first 50 brides in the door will receive a special “goodie bag” containing both practical items and fun stuff.
The Bridal Collection in Arnold will hold a fashion show, with bridal gowns in a variety of styles.
Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy cadets will be on hand to help with parking, help greet guests and escort models in the fashion show.
A full schedule of events is planned for the fair:
■ Vivian James American Beauty salon in Crystal City will offer tutorials on styles and tips on the best ways to show off your hair on your big day. It also will offer a makeup tutorial and will showcase styles and trends in makeup.
■ Launch Pointe Dance Studio will offer free lessons.
■ Mimosas and other beverages will be available for purchase.
A special section will be published in the Feb. 2 issue of the paper, showcasing the winner of the “Share the Love” photo contest held in conjunction with the fair and including more information and an up-to-the-last-minute schedule.
