Contestants start the 2019 Fox Trot at Arnold City Park. This year’s event will be held Saturday, Oct. 8.

Organizers are seeking sponsors and participants for the annual Fox Trot to be held Saturday, Oct. 8, at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road off Jeffco Boulevard near the Meramec River.

The Fox Trot includes a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run/walk, and this year for the first time, a 5K Family Bike Ride has been added to the event. The 5K run will start at 9 a.m. and the fun run/walk and the bike ride will begin at 10 a.m.

It costs $35 to register for the 5K and $15 for the fun run/walk or the bike ride. Proceeds will benefit the C-6 Educational Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides educational and welfare grants to help students throughout the Fox C-6 School District.

The overall male and female 5K run winners each will receive a $100 cash prize and trophy. The top three finishers in each 5K run age category will receive a medal. All fun run/walk and bike ride participants will receive a participation medal.

The 5K run participants who registered by Sept. 11 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt; other shirts may be available on race day. All Fox Trot participants will receive goodie bags, water and snacks. Entertainment will be included.

The C-6 school that has the most students, staff and family members register for the event will receive a $500 educational grant.

Fleet Feet will provide chip timing and online registration. To register, go to raceroster.com/events/2022/62319/fox-trot.

The Arnold Tourism Commission is the event co-sponsor, and Mercy Health is another major sponsor. More sponsors are being sought.
