The upcoming Fox High School Parents’ Club Fall Craft Fair will be nearly twice as big as last year, said Tracy Paul, a Parents’ Club member and craft fair organizer.
She said 181 vendors are expected to be at the fair, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fox High School, 715 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.
About 100 vendors were at last year’s fair, and the event has expanded to fill the school’s commons area, main gym, second gym and spaces outside the entrance. The club also used both gyms when it held its Spring Craft Fair in March.
“Every spot that could possibly be filled is filled,” Paul said. “It is going to be a full house. We have a bunch of returning vendors.”
While the size of the fair has grown, the club has reduced the shopping time by an hour on the first day. Paul said the first day was scaled back because typically few shoppers come during the final hour.
“It also is a long time for the volunteers,” Paul said, adding that about 20 Parents’ Club members volunteer to work during the fair. “I always appreciate the members who are able to volunteer each year. I also encourage people to join the club.”
Paul said the Fall Craft Fair typically attracts more shoppers than the Spring Craft Fair, which drew approximately 2,000 customers and raised about $12,000 for the Parents’ Club.
She said the Fall Craft Fair will offer plenty of items to help shoppers get ready for the fall season and holidays. Vendors will sell handmade crafts, woodworking items, 3-D printed items, jewelry, candles, crocheted items and various foods.
“Everyone floods to the Fall Craft Fair,” she said. “Everyone loves to go to the Fox show, and it always does so well, especially with the fall and the holidays coming up. There is a different vibe in the fall than the spring. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas and the holidays.”
Paul said nearly everyone who comes to shop at the Fall Craft Fair leaves with something.
“There is such a variety,” she said. “The fall show is usually super busy, and I think all of the vendors will do amazing.”
Along with Parents’ Club members, volunteers from Boy Scouts, National Honor Society and the Fox High football team will help during the fair, Paul said.
“We appreciate all of the help we can get,” she said. “It is such a big event, and everyone is willing to help us out.”
Paul said some of the money from the fair will fund scholarships for Fox High seniors to continue their education, and some will be used to fund school club activities.
She said the Parents’ Club will ask Fox High teachers to request money they might need to purchase items for their classrooms, and the club will use some of the funds collected during the fair to pay for those requested items.
“We also made a major purchase,” Paul said. “We are buying a tarp system for the school, which cost about $30,000. It should be able to be used for years. We are excited about that. We will buy it after the show.”
Paul said those interested in joining the Parents’ Club may attend the group’s monthly meetings. She said the meeting dates change, and people may email fhsparentsclub@gmail.com for information.
