Plenty of items will be available for purchase Oct. 3 at the 2026 West City Trash & Treasure Expo at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park in Festus, said Barb Lowry, the city’s director of recreation and tourism.
The event is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park, which is located along Old Hwy. A. It takes place on the Ball Field Complex parking lot on the park’s south side.
“We usually have close to 70 spaces sold,” Lowry said. “If you want to share a space with a neighbor, you can.”
Spaces cost $20 to rent, with the deadline to register noon Sept. 30. Setup time is 6-7:45 a.m. the day of the event.
“Pretty much anything can be sold, with a few exceptions,” Lowry said. “No pets or live animals. No vehicle or weapon sales.”
Just about everything else is eligible for sale at the large flea market event, including vehicle parts, she said.
“I see lots of furniture,” Lowry said. “It’s yard sale-type stuff. Lots of clothes. Lots of toys.”
Anyone selling food must comply with all regulations set by the Jefferson County Health Department.
