De Soto High School is celebrating homecoming this weekend with a parade, football game and dance.

The De Soto High varsity football Dragons will take on the Windsor Owls at 7 p.m. Friday. Admission to the game is $3 for adults and $1 for students.

“However, De Soto students are let in for free at all De Soto athletic events hosted on campus,” De Soto High School Principal Jon Roop said.

This year’s theme is “That ’70s Homecoming.”

Friday’s activities begin with a pep assembly at the high school followed by early dismissal at 11:40 a.m. to allow high school and junior high students and families time to prepare for the parade but the parade, which was scheduled at 3 p.m., was cancelled due to weather.

Roop said the homecoming court will be recognized before the football game at approximately 6:20 p.m., but the king and queen won’t be crowned until the Homecoming Dance on Saturday.

Members of the homecoming court are freshmen Cannon Kisner, Samuel Hooper, Augustine Pitts, Elizabeth McClinton, Remington Emmons and Tatum Askins; sophomores Levi Huck, Mason Martin, Collin Barton, Payton Stears, Alyssa Asbury and Raegan Shropshire; juniors Trevon Martin, Eli Thebeau, Austin Horton, Peyton Pehle, Taylor Davis and Cheyenne Taylor; and seniors Clayton Huck, Carter Queen, Austin Missey, Max Rozycki, Mya Bell, Josephine Foster, Kaylee Michalic and Ava Pinson.
