The Arnold Parks and Recreation Department will attempt to capture its sixth Feed the Masses crown in seven years.

The city is participating in the annual Missouri Park and Recreation Association’s food collection competition this month. The Feed the Masses drive began on Nov. 1, and it ends on Nov. 30.

People may donate nonperishable food items at the rec center, 1695 Missouri State Road.

Feed the Masses is a food drive competition created by the Missouri Park and Recreation Association. Local municipalities compete throughout November to see who collects the most food items for area charities.

Arnold finished first the first four years of the competition, and the city also collected the most food last year. Arnold collected 9,319 nonperishable food items in 2025, topping Maryland Heights, which collected 6,624 food items.

A total of 47,860 food items were collected during the 2025 Feed the Masses campaign.

Donations collected at the rec center will be delivered to the Gateway Food Pantry, 2024 Key West Drive, in Arnold.

“The city residents come out and support us every year,” Arnold Parks and Recreation Department Director Dave Crutchley said. “It is a great event that we do for the people in need in our area. It is really nice to have all of these people show up and support it.”
