The annual Christmas at Hagemeister Cabin festivities will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, when locals are invited to visit the 1873 log cabin at 3803 Lower Byrnes Mill Road in Byrnes Mill Park.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Santa Claus will be at the event, which is sponsored by the Northwest Historical and Preservation Society.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with local children and sit with them for photos and hear holiday wishes. A storyteller also will be on hand, spinning yarns for all the kids. Attendees will have the chance to share in trays of cookies and glasses of apple cider, while enjoying Christmas music.

The traditional Christmas market will not be held this season, though.

Event coordinator Rhea Milisitch said organizers are trying to keep the event to a smaller scale, while maintaining the same charm.

Attendance to Christmas at Hagemeister Cabin is free for the public. Cookies, cider, and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus also will be free.

“It should be festive,” Milisitch said. “We’re trying our best to get back in the swing of things. This is always fun, and the kids love it. It makes for a nice day.”

Organizers ask attendees to please wear masks.
