The city of Pevely and the STL Stangs Mustang Club are teaming up for Cars for Autism, a show in support of those with autism and their families.
The event is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 11 along Main Street in Pevely.
“We will put 80 to 90 percent of the proceeds to the cause,” said Sarah Doggendorff, the STL Stangs leader. “We’re giving it to Action for Autism of Fenton. They help families that have children with autism.”
There is no cost for spectators to come see the show, but participants are charged a $20 fee to enter.
Doggendorff said this is the second consecutive year for STL Stangs to put on a car show for charity in Pevely.
“I founded and created the club in 2022 for Mustang owners,” she said. “We look to support causes. Last year, it was Cars for Cancer.
“I’ve done some research into autism. I have friends with autism and have friends who have children with autism. We may or may not have it for autism again next year.”
Pevely City Administrator Andy Hixson said Pevely leaders are happy to have the event in their town and that he has a personal interest in autism.
“It’s a general car show put on by STL Stangs,” Hixson said. “They did a car show at Pevely Days (in August 2025) and did a good job. They approached us.
“The charity they are supporting is autism, and that’s a cause near and dear to my heart. My son James is severely autistic and nonverbal.”
Doggendorff said she expects Cars for Autism to draw hundreds of entrants.
“Last year, we had 275 (for Cars for Cancer),” she said. “We hope to have 400 this year. This year is going to be bigger.”
She said there is no preregistration. Registration opens at 8 a.m. on car show day.
“It happens rain or shine,” Doggendorff said. “We’ll have a bounce house for children. There will be food trucks and other vendors.
“We have many categories, like for classic cars, lift trucks, lowest truck and motorcycles,” she said.
The event offers car awards, truck awards and bike awards in various categories, plus several special trophies, including one for best in show.
