An evening of fall fun is expected Saturday during the 2026 Camp Crites at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park in Festus.

The free event features games, a bonfire, storytelling and hayrides and is put on by the city of Festus. Camp Crites, starts at 4:30 p.m. and runs through approximately 8:30 p.m. at the park, which is located along Old Hwy A.

“We’ll have back yard-size games (such as cornhole) and a bonfire the Festus Fire Department will be in charge of,” said Barb Lowry, the Festus recreation and tourism director. “People are welcome to bring their own hot dogs to roast or s’mores ingredients. Workers from the Parks Department will provide hayrides around the park.”

People may bring coolers and are encouraged to bring chairs or other seating items.

The Festus Tourism Commission is the event sponsor, having awarded Lowry a grant of $1,050 toward its costs.
